Client Dispatches — Verified Feedback
"We handed ClearPath a vague wish — 'somewhere coastal, no motorways' — and received a 9-day route through Pembrokeshire, the Gower, and North Devon that we still talk about two years on."
— The Hargreaves family, Bristol · Travelled August 2024
"The level of detail was staggering: fuel stops timed to scenic villages, accommodation pre-checked for EV chargers, and a hand-drawn detour to a farm shop that made the entire trip."
— Dominic Ashworth, solo traveller · Scottish Highlands loop, May 2025
"Our honeymoon road trip through the Loire Valley and Dordogne was flawless. Every restaurant suggestion was a gem. Every B&B felt personally chosen."

How Three Road Trips Changed Everything

We don't sell packages. We design journeys from first principles — and the best way to understand that is through the stories of people who trusted us with their time.

Winding coastal road through the Welsh countryside at golden hour

Case Study 01 — The Reluctant Drivers

A couple who hadn't driven further than the supermarket in three years asked us to plan a confidence-building coastal escape.

Wales & South-West England · 9 Days · 2024

The Hargreaves came to us with anxiety about long drives and a desire to reconnect with the outdoors. We designed a route with no single leg longer than 75 minutes, each ending at a village with character and a place to stretch. The route threaded through Brecon Beacons, skirted the Gower Peninsula, crossed into Devon via back roads, and finished at a clifftop cottage in Mortehoe.

Result: they've since booked two more trips — one to the Lake District, one to Normandy — and told us driving now feels like freedom, not a chore.

Case Study 02 — Solo Through the Highlands

Dominic Ashworth wanted solitude, single-track roads, and wild camping spots that wouldn't land him in trouble with landowners. We mapped a 14-day route from Edinburgh to Cape Wrath and back via the NC500's quieter siblings — roads most itineraries skip entirely.

His briefing pack included tide tables for coastal wild camps, a laminated emergency contacts card, and fuel station opening hours for remote stretches where the next pump can be 60 miles away.

"I've driven in 30 countries. This was the first time someone planned a route that felt like it was reading my mind."
Case Study 03 — A Honeymoon on Wheels

Priya and James wanted romance without rigidity. We crafted a 12-day meander through France's Loire Valley and into the Dordogne, with a flexible structure: fixed accommodation for the first and last three nights, and a curated shortlist for the middle six days so they could choose based on mood and weather.

Every evening included a restaurant recommendation and a backup option. We pre-booked the unmissable ones — a riverside table at a Michelin Bib Gourmand in Amboise and a truffle farm dinner near Sarlat.

"We came home with 400 photos and zero stress. That's the ClearPath difference."

How We Build a Journey

There's no template. Every road trip starts with a conversation — sometimes a 20-minute call, sometimes a long email chain — where we learn what matters to you. Then we disappear for a while and come back with something you didn't know you wanted.

  • We listen to your constraints first: time, budget, vehicle, passengers, anxieties, must-sees, must-avoids.
  • We research the route at ground level — road conditions, seasonal closures, local events that could enhance or disrupt your trip.
  • We draft a route and pressure-test it against weather patterns, driving fatigue thresholds, and your stated pace preference.
  • We deliver a complete briefing pack: maps, daily guides, accommodation confirmations, and a "what if" contingency layer.
  • We remain available by email throughout your trip for real-time adjustments.

Average turnaround from first conversation to delivered pack: 11 working days for regional trips, 18 for cross-country.

Common Questions

How far in advance should I book?
We recommend at least four weeks for regional UK trips and six to eight weeks for European routes. Peak summer and school holidays fill up fast — for July and August departures, start the conversation by April.
Do you book accommodation and restaurants for us?
We can. Our Regional Deep Dive and Cross-Country packages include full accommodation booking. For Weekend Escapes, we provide curated shortlists and you choose. Restaurant bookings are included for trips of seven days or more.
What if our plans change mid-trip?
Every briefing pack includes a contingency layer with alternative routes and backup accommodation. We're also reachable by email during your trip to help reroute on the fly — weather, road closures, or just a change of heart.
Can you plan trips outside the UK and Europe?
Our core expertise is UK and European road trips. We've supported a handful of trips to Morocco and Turkey, but for destinations further afield we'd refer you to a specialist partner.
